This program is aimed for helping patients and their families acquire 
    understanding, knowledge, and skill to cope with diabetes. In this way,
    this program enables persons with diabetes to provide self-care and 
    improve quality of life. Our Diabetes Consultant will work with 
    you according to you needs to achieve obtainable goals in managing your 
    diabetes.

This program includes
       1. Diabetes medication counseling.
             *Counsel on drug interactions, therapeutic overlapping and drugs that
              affect your blood glucose level. 
       2. Diabetes wellness education 
             *Individualized nutrition Meal-planning.
             *Healthy eating through Carb counting and exchange lists 
             *Physical activity
       3. Self-monitoring of Blood Glucose training.
             *Use of blood glucose monitors teaching.
             *Using diabetes management software for monitoring blood glucose 
              levels.
       4. Insulin injection training and monitoring
             *Teaching insulin injection techniques
             *Monitoring insulin doses using standard methods or pattern control.
       5. Assisting in selecting OTC medications and food supplements.

For anyone who is newly diagnosed with diabetes; has a change in medication 
treatment ; or the blood glucose level is not under optimal control

Initial visit is usually one hour; followed by two half hour sessions. Call and 
ask about the cost of this entire educational program. Group session is available 
upon request. We accept and Medicare coverage and major insurances for this 
educational program, blood glucose monitors, test strips and lancets.
